Creative Exchange is a community-driven event hosted by Until Sunday Studio in Syros.
Each session, a guest brings their work into the room and shares the story behind it. Open to working creatives and anyone curious enough to come.

Where it happens
Creative Exchange takes place in Hermoupolis, inside the Until Sunday Studio office. Your host is Chiara Aliotta, an Italian designer who has made Syros her home and runs the studio from here.
It is a small room for around thirty people: an evening at human scale, where the speaker and the audience sit in the same circle.
Free to attend, free to speak
Creative Exchange runs on hospitality.
Entry is free for everyone in the room, including the speaker, and the studio lays out the nibbles. There is no ticket and nothing to sell, only an evening together.
The bar next door
Plastico Gallery keeps its bar open during every Creative Exchange.
Drinks are theirs to serve and yours to buy. Take one before we begin, and stay on after the talk for the slower part of the evening, when conversations open up.

This shift raises questions that are as much about people as about technology. What does it mean for designers to work with AI rather than around it? And as intelligence becomes ambient, present in the ordinary objects and interfaces of daily life, how does it reshape the way we work, create, and interact with one another?
This edition of Creative Exchange is a special one and brings together practitioners and academics from design, product, and research for an open conversation on the pervasive age of AI as the quiet, everyday force it is becoming. Moderated by Chiara Aliotta.

11.05.2024The M2P (metoo patterns) brand forms a field of research, artistic and commercial activity for the graphic design team known as metoo. The first thing the team agreed on was that "it's not just design itself that is important".
The true essence of M2P is repurposing the past to make it future-proof. In recent years, M2P has taken great interest in creating patterns inspired by Greek folk art, and applying them to quotidian objects.

15.11.2025Pink House (Pink House Press & Pink House Studio) is an artist initiative founded by Ersi Varveri and Gijs Waterschoot, based on the island of Syros, Greece.
Pink House began in 2017 at The Pink House, an artist-run space in Antwerp. In 2020, Ersi and Gijs relocated to Syros to live and work alongside painter and poet Kostas Varveris, Ersi’s father.
The Pink House space functions as a working studio throughout the year and opens to the public a few times annually for exhibitions and gatherings. -

Marina grew up in the Brazilian countryside, and from a very young age, she built an interior world to survive the one outside. That inner space became her shelter, her language, her way of making sense of things that had no easy name.

Pekka is an Engineering Team Lead from Finland who has spent his career living between engineering and design, precision and feeling, what a product does and how it makes people feel.He grew up in Finland, where things are built to work. Quietly, reliably, without fuss.
Over the years, working closely with engineers, testers, and product teams, he began noticing something that no spec sheet ever captures: the moment a user loses trust. Not with a crash. Not with an error. But with a hesitation. A detail that felt just slightly off.

Something real to share.
Work you have made, or a question you are still trying to answer, not theory borrowed from elsewhere.

A willingness to talk with the room.
This is a circle, not a stage. Expect the conversation to keep going after the talk ends, whether you are sitting in it or beaming in.

Honesty about how it came together.
Share the doubts and detours, not only the polished outcome. The audience will lean in for the truth, not for a pitch.

The room is open to creatives of every kind: makers, designers, writers, musicians, ceramicists, photographers, people who work with their hands and people who work with code.
